Local Development Officer Vacancy
0.5 FTE (17.5 hours per week): £13,248 per annum.
Initially fixed term contract until 31/03/2021
Applecross Community Company (ACC) has an immediate opportunity for a part-time Local Development Officer (LDO) to join the team on a job share basis. The purpose of the role is to continue the development of existing projects, carry out community consultation, work with strategic partners, and generally fulfil the objectives of the ACC. You will be responsible for project management, managing budgets, report and application preparation, fundraising, marketing and promotion.
This role will involve working with our existing LDO who has been in post since October 2018 and who also works on a part-time basis. The successful applicant will also work closely with an energetic board of voluntary trustees and will have the support of a part-time administrator.
The successful applicant should be self-motivated, energetic and have an enthusiasm for Applecross and community development. Good communication, writing skills and computer competency are essential for the role. Desirable skills include education/experience in rural or community development related subjects, and project management experience.
This post is fully funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the initial contract will be until 31st March 2021. The position may continue beyond this date if future funding is secured. The successful candidate will ideally be based on Applecross Peninsula or surrounding area, or willing to move there. The 17.5 hours a week may include occasional weekends and evenings.
